A long time family favorite. The chicken Bao are fantastic.... my personal favorite is the BBQ Bun.

Came on a Tuesday morning, no lines which is perfect to grab a quick bite before heading into the office! I walked in and was quickly greeted by the cashier lady and got my order taken. It was a simple order of half a dozen of egg tarts and within 2 mins I was in and out of the store! The customer service was quick and friendly, she asked if there was anything else I needed and was quick to recommend the Ha Gow and Siu Mai! Unfortunately, I was heading into the office and wasn't too hungry which is why I opted not to make the purchase. Upon entering the store the smell of the dim sum hits you, and man everything smelled so good and delicious. I could just take a seat and order one of everything if I could! The egg tarts itself were still warm by the time I reached the office. The crust was super flaky which I enjoyed! I do generally prefer a more creamy inside, but nonetheless these were very tasty! Would come again!

This place is my staple pace for cheap and fast dim sum. In the heart of Chinatown, there's plenty of parking around it. The service is always fast and friendly and the atmosphere feels like a Chinese bakery. With rows and rows of baked goods and steamed food the have so much to pick from. If you come during lunch there's always a line but it moves rather quickly. Overall a must have for dim sum take out. Fast and cheap eats!

Best priced dim sum! Ladies were helpful and nice. Place is clean and fragrant with bakery and dim sum scents! Many selections!

I only come here for one item, their 5-STAR DAIKON RADISH CAKE (often erroneously called 'turnip' cake -- two completely different vegetables.) If you think it's going to taste the same as the daikon cake sold at dim sum joints and Asian markets, think again. With the possible exception of HK Dim Sum House in San Gabriel, the Daikon cake @Long's is the freshest, best-tasting in L.A. It's packed with freshly shredded daikon, very little rice flour & starch, and retains its soft velvety texture after pan-frying to a crisp. Huge thick pieces @$1.30, you can stock up and keep them in the freezer for weeks, but I suspect they would be all gone in a few days :-P Caveat - it's usually sold out after 1pm. Credit cards and Google Pay accepted

Long's Family Pastry is a go-to spot every time I visit Chinatown. I usually visit on the weekends, and there is almost always a long line out the door. Thankfully, the line moves very quickly because of the efficient employees. There is no indoor seating, so it is a store you visit to grab pastries/food to go. The sheer selection of Long's Family Pastry is admirable. When I go, I usually get a variety of affordable pastries and dim sum. My must tries include the baked BBQ bun, baked pineapple bun, curry pork cookie, pork shumai, cream sponge cake, custard egg tart, and coconut bun. These are just a few of the choices, and every single item I've tried from this store has been beyond delicious. If you want some of the best dim sum and pastries in Los Angeles, I highly recommend visiting Long's Family Pastry.

Went here on a Sunday and there was a small line that went by quickly. I've order their baked bbq bun, snow egg bun (filling was bbq pork), chicken bun and the almond rice cake. Everything tastes fresh and delicious. My favorite was the snow egg bun where the top of the bread kinda reminds me of a pineapple bread. Pricing was affordable and service was quick.

I grew up going to Chinatown for most of my life (mom worked there, grandma lived there), but for some reason I never came in here before. There is a decent amount of baked goods here. The taste reminds me of old school baked goods I would eat when I was younger. There are a bunch of steamers behind the counters filled with steamed buns. The chicken bao is big and has a good amount of filling. Egg tart was pretty good too. The custard bun was meh, I couldn't find any filling in it until I was almost done with the bun and I found a tablespoon of custard filling at the last bite. :(

This place really brings back lots of memories since I was a little girl. This place has been here for decades which should tell customers something. I came to visit Chinatown again for a project and just had to stop by here for old times sake. Almost everything is exactly as I remembered it. Food to the restaurant itself. Some minor changes is there is no more sit down area to the right where it used to he as you walk in with many locals who would walk by and make a stop here every morning while reading their morning papers. To the left if i recalled had bakery items which is more storage or sell wrapped cakes/cookies and other things instead. The siu mai is a bit smaller than i remember. The bbq pork rice roll (my favorite forever since i was little) is exactly the same as I remember also except i swore it had diced green onions before. We also got the Ham sui gok (fried mochi like bun with minced pork etc inside which the stuffing is also a bit less than other places. Lastly we also got the lo mai gai (sticky rice with minced meat inside) was also good but also had litte amounts of stuffing. Parking is street meter parking only. Lady employee or owner speaks chinese and english. Super nice and patient. TLTR: Flavors are legit of old fashioned chinese dim sum but fillings are not as much compared to actual dim sum restaurants. Devils advocate here though, they are a small mom & pop stand thats been around for ages and their cost did not really go up much which makes up for a bit of lacking in fillings. This is still my all time favorite childhood place that holds many memories and no one makes the bbq pork rice rolls like they do! Make sure to add in the soy sauce before eating those delicious rice rolls!

LONG'S FAMILY PASTRY is a small and busy shop serving great "usuals". There is no indoor or outdoor dining space. You can find lots of metered parking in the surrounding streets. There are also a couple of cheap parking lots. Har Gow (Shrimp Dim Sum Dumpling) are $1 a piece but it is well made. The shrimp pieces are large, not ground, and generous. The wrapper is well wrapped and intact. It is packaged well so the dumplings are not stuck to each other. Steamed BBQ Bun is great. Baked BBQ Bun is even better! Wintermelon Moon Cake is very good. I still prefer the bean ones though. The cake part is fantastic! Hotdog Bun is so yummy the kids didn't even share. They have a mini fridge with fresh Milk Tea with no boba made and delivered by another vendor. Convenient. There was a line out the door when we arrived, but there are a LOT of workers and the line moves fairly quickly. I will definitely come back and try out their meat pies, or as they call them, "meat cookies".
